Alster Legal was present at the Legalweek New York 2019 fair.

During the last days of January, we attended the Legalweek conference in NY, USA. The world's largest and oldest legal technology trade fair.
Legalweek New York is the week in which several relevant actors in the legal industry meet to explore what the trends in technology, regulations, business and talent retention that impact the legal market.
Legalweek offered its attendees the opportunity to participate in various workshops, boot camps, networking sessions and a great fair of products and services. It also counted on five conferences specially designed to address key themes of industrywhich were: LegalCIO, legal marketing, diversity and talent management forums, business law and legaltech.
As in previous years, our objective was to update us on the trends that drive the global market for legal services and to assess the new technologies available to this industry.
So, during these days, we had the opportunity to share with opinion leaders, futurists of the legal industry, and relevant actors in the study of this fascinating industry.
The major themes addressed during this event were:
- The equality, diversity and inclusion in legal service providers;
- The indisputable position of the alternative legal service providers in recent years and its consolidation proposals for complementary or alternative values traditional legal studies;
- The relevance of technology in the generation of solutions related to personal data protection and information security;
- The need to reform in depth the teaching of the law to provide lawyers with the necessary tools for the new challenges they will face in the field of work; and
- The indisputable progress of technologies in replacing recurrent and low-value-added functions traditionally performed by lawyers.
Without a doubt, each and every subject mentioned here deserves analysis, so we will generate special columns for each of these elements.
