The Challenge to reconcile Family and Labour Life

Each day, organizations that incorporate one or more measures to reconcile personal or family life with working life into their human resources or human management policies increase, through "non-economic" or emotional "compensation mechanisms, which seek to pay the worker in a different way for the services provided.

Implementing this type of practice means giving an important space to the well-being of the people who are part of the company, who through their daily effort allow the organization to fulfil its mission and vision. This trend has been called "Work-life balance" or "Work-life Integration," the first being the balance between working life and person life, and the second, the concept of integration between personal life and work, something a little deeper and that refers to achieving the complete integration of these two worlds, without assuming that both are opposed, but complementary.

In our country, thanks to the joint work of various NGOs, a ranking is held annually called "Best Enterprises for Working Mothers and Parents," in which the organizations that consider various conciliation practices are involved. In this way, in January, the award was made for the "Best Enterprises for Mothers and Parents Working 2015," in which 114 organizations participated, of which the final stage of the study was completed 82 companies and public bodies, who reported on their practices in the area of Family Reconciliation - Work and their collaborators were consulted on their level of knowledge, use and evaluation of them, in aspects such as Labour Flexibility; Support for Maternity and Paternity; Child Care in the Cuna and Children's Garden; Permissions for the care of children; Family Development and Family Development; Family Development; Family and Family Development; Family Development;

On the other hand, the National Women's Service, through the implementation of its programme "Seal Iguala Conciliation" consisting of a Chilean standard on the system of management of gender equality (Nch 3262- 2012 Management Systems - Gender Equality Management and Reconciliation of Working Life - family and personal), gives the organizations certified through bodies authorized by the INN, a certification seal of a promotional nature that will enable companies to obtain this seal in their public promotional strategies and corporate typography.

In this sense, it becomes a challenge for any modern organization, independent of corresponding to a large, medium or small company, to have the person as the center and main value of its structure. This type of practice that allows the worker / worker to develop in a complete and comprehensive way means in turn a contribution to the company that will benefit from a satisfied and committed worker, who with the support of his employer will be able to develop his other roles with tranquility, having a much greater value than some kind of economic compensation.

Finally, from the point of view of the collaborator, the reconciliation of his personal and working life will positively affect his perception of the work he does, increase his commitment to the organization of which he is a part, and benefit his mental, physical and emotional health.
